Thervise-GPS

User manual

Version 1  ·  27 October 2026  ·  For the Thervise-GPS tracker, the website gps.thervise.com and the Thervise phone app

In short: have the Thervise-GPS installed (section 2), create your account and link the Thervise-GPS with its activation card (section 3), then follow your vehicle on the map (section 4). Keep the activation card hidden like a key until the Thervise-GPS is activated.

1 Before you start

The Thervise-GPS is a small tracking unit fitted inside your vehicle. It finds its position with the satellites (GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou) and sends it over the 4G mobile network to Thervise, where you see it on a map. Its SIM card is already inside.

What you need

  • the Thervise-GPS and its activation card;
  • a smartphone (the Android app or the browser) or a computer with a web browser;
  • an e-mail address and a phone number, for your account;
  • an installer, or the skills to wire a device to a vehicle's battery (section 2).

The activation card

The card carries the Device ID, the activation code under a scratch-off layer, and a QR code that holds both. Whoever has the code can link the Thervise-GPS to their account: keep the card hidden like a key, never post a photo of it, and keep it until the Thervise-GPS is activated. If you lose it before activating, write to support (section 11).

Each Thervise-GPS has one free trial, and gives one invitation gift, for its whole life.

2 Installing the Thervise-GPS

Installing and wiring the Thervise-GPS is the responsibility of the vehicle owner or of the certified installer they choose (Terms of Service, section 5). If you are not sure, have a certified installer do it. Work with the engine off and the key removed, and follow the vehicle maker's instructions for any work on its electrical system.

Where to fit it

  • Inside the cabin, out of sight — for example behind the dashboard trim or under a seat. Not in the engine compartment.
  • Where it "sees" the sky through glass or plastic: the Thervise-GPS (and its antennas, if they are separate) must not be under or behind metal. Metallised (heat-reflecting) windscreens and tinted films containing metal can weaken the signals.
  • Away from heat (heater ducts, the engine), from water, and from moving parts (pedals, steering column).
  • Fixed firmly (cable ties or strong double-sided tape): it feels the vehicle's movement, and it must never be able to fall onto the pedals.

Power

  • Connect it to the vehicle's battery with a permanent supply (one that stays on when the ignition is off): that is how it can be woken up and located while the vehicle is parked, and raise an alert if the vehicle moves.
  • Protect the supply wire with a fuse close to the connection point.
  • Use short wires of a suitable section and solid, insulated connections. When it transmits on 4G, the Thervise-GPS draws short peaks of current of up to about 2 A: a weak supply or a poor connection makes its mobile module restart.
  • Do not remove its SIM card, and do not open, modify or reprogram the Thervise-GPS.

Check it before closing the trim

The Thervise-GPS has three lights:

LightWhat it shows
StatusOn = tracking on  ·  off = tracking turned off  ·  one short blink every 5 seconds = asleep (normal when the vehicle is parked)
NetworkOn = connected to the 4G network
ActivityFast blink = moving  ·  slow blink = stopped  ·  on = parked  ·  off = no satellite position yet
  1. Power it: the Status light comes on, then the Network light once it is connected to the 4G network.
  2. Take the vehicle outside, under open sky. The first satellite position can take a few minutes after the very first power-on.
  3. Once the Thervise-GPS is linked to your account (section 3), check that its position appears on the map — then close the trim.

The button

  • Short press, while it is awake: turns tracking on or off. When tracking is off it sends nothing — leave it on.
  • Hold 3 seconds: restarts it (the lights blink 8 times first).
  • Asleep, it does not react to the button: it wakes up when the vehicle moves, or when you locate it from the app.

3 Your account and linking the Thervise-GPS

1. Get Thervise

  • Android phone: on gps.thervise.com, choose Download the Android app. If your phone asks, allow installing from this source — the app is signed by Thervise.
  • iPhone or computer: open gps.thervise.com in your browser. Everything works there too.

2. Create your account

  1. On the sign-in page, choose Create an account.
  2. Enter your full name, a username (you sign in with it), your e-mail address, your phone number and a password (at least 8 characters, with A-Z, a-z, 0-9 and a symbol).
  3. Read the Terms of Service and the Personal Data Protection Policy, and accept the processing of your data under Law No. 18-07. You must be at least 19 years old.
  4. Enter the 6-digit code we send to your e-mail address (check the spam folder too). Thervise then takes you to adding your first Thervise-GPS.

3. Link the Thervise-GPS

Scratch the card, then either:

  • Scan the QR code (in the app or on the website): allow the camera — the picture is read on your phone, never recorded or sent;
  • or type the ID and the code: the Device ID and the Scratch-off secret;
  • or scan the card's QR code with your phone's own camera: it opens Thervise with the form already filled in.

Give the vehicle a nickname, check, then press Activate. Later, add another Thervise-GPS from My Devices → Add.

4. Choose a plan

A Thervise-GPS that was never activated before comes with a free trial — once in its life. Then choose its plan in Subscriptions (prices in Algerian dinars, all taxes included; every payment is confirmed in the app and by e-mail):

PlanWhat it does
StarterLocates the vehicle when you ask (Where is my car?). The Thervise-GPS sleeps the rest of the time and uses very little power. The number of locates left this year shows on its card.
ProLive tracking all the time, the full history and route replay — and everything in Starter.
BusinessEverything in Pro, with reports, Sectors (zones) and more alerts.

When a plan ends, the service for that Thervise-GPS stops until you renew it.

5. Describe the vehicle

In Vehicle details, add the plate, type, make, colour and a photo. If you ever report the vehicle stolen, the police use them to recognise it.

4 Using Thervise every day

The map and your vehicles

  • My Devices lists your vehicles; Map shows where they are. On a Pro or Business plan, the car moves live along the road.
  • Starter: press Where is my car? — the Thervise-GPS wakes up and sends its position. It can take a minute or two (Waiting for GPS…).
  • A dashed blue circle means the satellites are not visible yet (a car park, a covered street, just woken up) and the mobile network gave an estimate: the vehicle is somewhere in the circle. A real satellite position replaces it by itself.

History and replay

History track → choose a day: the route is drawn on the map, and Replay plays the drive back (Pro plan and above). You can download your trips from Settings → Download my trips (CSV).

Alerts

  • Settings → Notifications & Alerts: choose which alerts you receive (movement, speed, a Thervise-GPS going silent, zones) and how — by e-mail, as phone notifications, and on Telegram.
  • Telegram: Connect Telegram, then Start in Telegram. The link works once, for 15 minutes.
  • On Mondays you can receive a weekly summary of your vehicles.
  • Sectors (Business plan): draw a zone on the map; you are alerted when the vehicle leaves it.

Share a live position

On the vehicle's card: Share → choose for how long (5 minutes to 7 days) → send the link. Whoever has the link sees the vehicle live until the time ends or you press Stop. Share only with people you trust (Terms of Service, section 6).

Papers and maintenance

Papers on the vehicle's card: enter the dates of the insurance, the technical inspection and other papers, and maintenance by date or by kilometres. Reminders come 30, 7 and 1 days before, on the day, and once if late. Kilometre reminders need a Pro plan.

Parking guard

Guard (Pro and Business): Add a parking spot (home, work). After 3 minutes parked there, the guard arms; if the vehicle then leaves the spot, you are alerted at once. Was it you? Press It's me, or pause the guard (Pause 1 h, Pause until tomorrow). You can also give a spot its hours (for example 22:00–07:00).

Easy mode

Easy mode (the button at the top) shows just the map and your cars, in big. Tap a car to see where it is. You can go back to the full view at any time; the choice follows your account on every phone.

Invite friends

When a friend activates a new Thervise-GPS (never used before), you each receive a gift: one month of Starter — Invite friends → My gifts → Use on a device.

Help

Help & support: write to us and follow the answer in the app; What's new shows the latest changes; Show the guided tour plays the tour again.

5 If your vehicle is stolen

  1. Call the police first. Do not try to recover the vehicle yourself.
  2. On the vehicle's card, press Report stolen and type STOLEN to confirm. The police accounts are alerted at once and see the vehicle live, with the vehicle details you entered (section 3).
  3. When the vehicle is found, press Mark recovered and type RECOVERED: police tracking stops.
Report only the real theft of a vehicle you are entitled to track. A false report is a false alert to the police services: under Algerian law it may lead to criminal prosecution, and every report is recorded (Terms of Service, section 6).

6 Keeping your account safe

  • Choose a strong password and never give it to anyone. Thervise never asks for your password or your activation code — not by phone, SMS, e-mail or message.
  • A sign-in from a new phone or computer may ask for a quick check, or for a code sent to your e-mail address.
  • The Android app stays signed in for up to 30 days. It locks when it starts and after 5 minutes away: unlock it with your fingerprint, your face or your phone's PIN.
  • Settings → Signed-in devices shows where your account is open. Lost a phone? Sign it out there (with your password).
  • Forgot your password? On the sign-in page, choose Forgot password? — a code is sent to your e-mail address.
  • Something looks wrong? Write to [email protected] at once.

7 Other drivers, selling or giving away

  • Tell anyone who drives the vehicle (family, a borrower) that it is fitted with a Thervise-GPS. An employee or a hired driver must be informed, and their consent obtained, beforehand (Law No. 18-07).
  • Selling the vehicle or giving the Thervise-GPS away: remove it from your account (My Devices → Remove device from account) and choose Delete the history or Keep the history. Either way, the next owner sees none of your trips. The free trial is not given again.
  • You can delete your account from Settings; what is deleted is kept 12 months in a closed archive, then erased (Personal Data Protection Policy).

8 Problems and answers

ProblemWhat to do

9 Care, safety and the law

  • Do not open, modify or reprogram the Thervise-GPS, and do not remove its SIM card.
  • Do not use the app while driving.
  • Positions depend on the satellites, the mobile network, the installation and the surroundings (tunnels, garages, buildings): they are not always exact, and an estimate from the mobile network only shows the area.
  • The Thervise-GPS benefits from the legal guarantee of Law No. 09-03 on consumer protection. A delivered device that does not match your order or is defective can be returned within four (4) working days of its delivery (Law No. 18-05).
  • Your data — what we collect, why, for how long, and your rights: Personal Data Protection Policy.
  • At the end of its life, do not throw the Thervise-GPS away with household waste: take it to a collection point for electronic waste.

10 Terms of Service

By creating an account or activating a Thervise-GPS, you accept the Terms of Service and the Personal Data Protection Policy. In short:

  • You must be 19 or older. Your account is personal: keep your password secret.
  • Track only a vehicle you own or that the law entitles you to track, and tell its drivers. Tracking someone without their knowledge is forbidden and can be a criminal offence.
  • Keep the activation code secret. A Thervise-GPS is active on one account at a time; one free trial and one invitation gift per Thervise-GPS, for its whole life.
  • Installation follows this manual; Thervise is not responsible for damage caused by an installation that does not.
  • Prices are in Algerian dinars, all taxes included; a plan lasts for the period paid, and the service stops when it ends.
  • Report a theft only if it is real.
  • Positions are not guaranteed to be exact, and the service may pause for maintenance.
  • Algerian law applies; disputes go to the Algerian courts.

The full text — the Terms of Service of 27 October 2026 — is at gps.thervise.com/terms; it prevails over this summary.
